Job Summary
The Account Management Specialist is an entry-level support role designed to build the foundation for a future Account Manager position within Foodbuy Hospitality. While relationship ownership remains with the Senior Account Manager/Associate Director/Director, the Specialist strengthens execution, improves communication, and helps deliver a consistent, professional member experience. This position may require travel up to 20% for member meetings, business reviews, supplier engagements, and internal team activities.
This position reports directly to a Senior Account Manager, Associate Director, or Director of the Account Management organization and will partner closely with cross-functional resources, including Finance, Business Analysts, Category Business Management, Culinary Solutions, Customer Support (MET), sourcing support teams, and internal technology partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, curious, and comfortable working across multiple systems and competing priorities. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to translate information into clear action items for both internal teams and member stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve in an entry-level support capacity without specific account assignments, providing flexible support across members, projects, and priorities as directed by the Senior Account Manager/Associate Director/Director.
· Partner with the assigned Senior Account Manager/Associate Director/Director and Foodbuy Hospitality Business Analyst to identify member opportunities related to savings, contract compliance, program adoption, supplier engagement, operational efficiency, and overall value creation.
· Leverage internal tools and reporting platforms, including MPower, CRM, Power BI, Smartsheet, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Copilot, and other Microsoft applications, to gather information, organize work, analyze trends, and support informed decision-making.
· Maintain project organization and visibility through Smartsheet, CRM, shared trackers, and other approved platforms to ensure timelines, ownership, milestones, and follow-up items are clearly documented and actively managed.
· Support the preparation of agendas, recaps, action-item trackers, and supporting materials for recurring member calls, internal alignment meetings, supplier discussions, and business planning sessions.
· Assist in building professional Business Review materials for member visits, leadership updates, quarterly business reviews, and other strategic touchpoints by compiling relevant data, project updates, opportunity summaries, and value-driven insights.
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect information, validate updates, resolve open items, and ensure the Senior Account Manager/Associate Director/Director has the resources needed to support member priorities effectively.
· Monitor assigned tasks and follow-up items to help ensure timely execution, proactive communication, and consistent progress against member objectives.
· Develop working knowledge of Foodbuy Hospitality programs, supplier relationships, category strategies, member needs, and account management best practices to support long-term career progression into an Account Manager role.
· Provide administrative, analytical, and operational support that strengthens the Account Management team’s ability to deliver a high-quality, consistent, and professional member experience.
· Travel up to 20% as needed to support member-facing meetings, business reviews, supplier engagements, internal planning sessions, and other account management activities.
Required Skills:
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, projects, and stakeholder needs simultaneously.
· Professional communication skills, including the ability to draft clear emails, meeting recaps, agendas, and business updates.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint, with the ability and willingness to learn additional platforms such as CRM, Power BI, MPower, Smartsheet, and Copilot.
· High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy when maintaining trackers, compiling data, preparing materials, and documenting follow-up items.
· Ability to work collaboratively with Account Managers, Business Analysts, category teams, suppliers, and other internal partners.
· Proactive mindset with a willingness to ask questions, seek clarity, anticipate needs, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
· Professional presence and sound judgment when supporting member-facing meetings, materials, and communications.
· Interest in account management, procurement, hospitality, sourcing, supply chain, or member relationship support.
· Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% based on business needs.

· Experience supporting account management, customer service, sales operations, hospitality, procurement, or business administration functions.
· Comfort working with data, dashboards, reports, and project management tools to support business recommendations and operational follow-through.
