• Why should I start my career at Compass Group?

  Compass Group offers the opportunities and benefits of a large corporate company, but with a family feel. We also take great pride in our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, our approaches to sustainability, and other socially conscious endeavors. As a full-time employee, not only will you have access to the typical benefits (medical, dental, 401k, etc.) you'll have the opportunity to join other benefit programs such as pet insurance, public transport commuter benefits, shopping programs, and more.

• What can my career path look like at Compass?

  An internship can be the start of any kind of career you can imagine, including joining the AMP after graduation. Following management training, you'll typically find yourself in a supervisor or manager-level role, on the fast track for continued leadership through the ranks of Compass Group. Some up-and-coming leaders even make multiple promotional-level moves within their first few years and beyond. It's also very common to meet people who have been with Compass Group for 20+ years, within different job levels, job areas, and even different sectors.

• What is the difference between AMP and MIT?

  At Compass Group, most of the individuals in the Accelerated Manager Program (AMP) have the job title of Manager in Training (MIT). You’ll need to complete AMP to move into a standard, full-time leadership role — and graduate your job title along with it.

• What happens after AMP?

  Upon successfully graduating from the Accelerated Manager Program, participants will move into a supervisory or management-level leadership role within the sector they completed the program. During the course of the program, you and your manager(s) will be communicating what that process will look like and about potential available opportunities upon graduation. Some roles may require relocation, and if this is the case, you will be aware of this potential from very early on so you can decide if that works for you before accepting an offer and so that there are no surprises for anyone later. Once you do graduate and move into leadership, your career path continues from there in whichever direction you want and work to take it.

• What’s a sector and how do I know which one I'll support if hired?

  We refer to our individual operating companies and brands in the Compass Group family as “sectors.” When deciding where you'll kick off your career with Compass, we try to understand your interests and to find the sector that best suits those. That said, while not every sector will have available needs at every moment, if we are unable to place you within your most desired sector, we will do our best to help you decide the next best direction. All our sectors are amazing for many of the same reasons AND for many different reasons. We aim to find what's best for you based on what we currently have available.

• If I start within one sector of Compass, is it possible to move to another later?

  Yes — there are some parameters around how quickly you look to make those types of moves, but you'll often meet people that have worked within multiple sectors within Compass.

• Is work authorization required to work at Compass?

  Work authorization is required for the Accelerated Manager Program and may be required for most internships.
