Job Summary
Position Title: Controller
Location: Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort, Mammoth Lakes, CA
Description:
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements
- Lead and develop the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Monitor internal controls and implement improvements to safeguard company assets
- Partner with operational leadership to analyze financial performance and support decision-making
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Manage audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and consultants
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings
- Support strategic planning and long-term financial initiatives
Requirements:
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with leadership responsibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing audits and regulatory compliance
- Ability to lead and develop a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
