Job Summary
As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating our teams to provide an unforgettable experience to our guests in our Cubs team store and retail across campus. The ideal candidate will be an experienced retail operations leader who is focused on people and quality standards.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Ensuring high standards of merchandising at all retail areas
- Coaching and leading team members to provide a fantastic guest experience
- Identifying and implementing plans for continual operational improvement
- Taking a hands-on approach to ensuring our standards are being executed
- Overseeing retail opening duties - ensuring readiness from the moment the first guest arrives
- Overseeing closing duties to ensure retail areas are secured
- Supervising team members to ensure high standards are always maintained
- Scheduling team members through MyStaff - aligning labor spend with revenue forecasts to optimize financial performance and guest experience
- Accurate completion and maintenance of inventory to prevent shrinkage
- Placing orders for products based on detailed analysis of future demand
- Ensuring high standards of store merchandising are always maintained
- Coaching team members to continually enhance performance
- Attend management meetings to build collaboration with other departments at the location
- Handling customer complaints to ensure timely and satisfactory completion
- Processing invoices in a timely manner
- Oversee the customization process of apparel and jerseys for internal and external guests. Including, but not limited to pressing jerseys and managing orders and shipments.
- Overseeing the rotation of merchandise for different event types to optimize revenue
- Setting daily zone chart for team members
- Completing team pre-shifts to set the tone for events and keep team members informed
- Complete sales floor inspection to ensure all areas are set up to a high standard and are clean and safe
- Overseeing sales floor restocking to optimize product availability
- Direct warehouse operations and monitor the flow of merchandise from receipt to distribution utilizing the Retail Cloud POS and Inventory Management System.
- Receiving orders and checking to ensure accuracy
- Planning and managing special event setups and tear downs
- Assisting customers as needed - always setting an example for team members
- Completing team member progressive discipline as needed
- Ensuring compliance with all Payment Card Information rules always
- Completion of annual performance and mid-term reviews with team members
- Managing location 'Keys to the Future' activities to develop future leaders
- Completion of team member orientation training
- Other duties as assigned Job Requirements
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in a retail operational position
- Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Business is preferred
- High level of computer literacy
- Passion for retail. Must be able to multitask
- Must be flexible with schedule, able to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to stand /walk long hours (8+ hours/day). Frequent stretching, reaching and bending
- Ability to lift heavy objects (30-50 lbs.) on a semi-regular basis
