Position Title: Unit Manager 

Shift: Monday - Friday; 1 or 2 weekends per month, on call on weekends

Salary: $65,000

Pay Grade:  13

Other Forms of Compensation:  none

Job Summary

 

As a Unit Manager, you will ensure excellent service to on-site clients and Line Managers within the department. This position oversees the Business Support Services Team (Janitorial, GMP).

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Report financial data and statistics accurately and timely within MyFinance.


Control expenses within your area of responsibility

Develop departmental operating budgets within set parameters.Operate the department within or under predetermined budgets.
Maintain records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise the functions and activities of the department
Establish work standards and workflows, implement policies and procedures for departmental operations, and communicate effectively with clients

Promote associate creativity and innovation within the ESFM program.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, demonstrate and promote ESFM culture, values, and management philosophy
Maintain a proactive attitude towards achieving facility goals and objectives, demonstrate leadership in meeting performance plans
Engage in the Total Quality Management process, develop and maintain job descriptions for department staff.
Encourage staff participation in education programs.
Ensure proper staffing across all departments (Janitorial, Handyman, GMP).
Ensure weekly payroll is entered into MyStaff software, new employees are entered into MyCPM software, ensure Business Services Q&A’s are inputted into Smart Inspect software weekly.
Complete Monthly Service Reports, review and approve all invoices in the LaserFiche system
Resolve operational problems or issues regarding Business Support Services, communicate site objectives and plans to all employees.
Act as liaison for customer needs.
Coordinate Monthly Safety meetings for associates, complete specific monthly Safety Reports, and maintain all safety requirements for staff members provided by EHS.
Manage the quality process related to Business Support Services and set targets for improvement.
Measure customer satisfaction and implement action plans for areas needing improvement.
Continuously review and improve Business Support Services procedures.
Share best practices with colleagues.
Conduct weekly One-on-One sessions with Line Managers and provide corrective feedback.
Enable effective two-way communication with all staff.
Coach and develop staff
Minimize staff turnover and absenteeism
Clearly communicate site objectives and plans to all staff
Maintain high morale among staff members
Manage CMMS (SAP) GMP tasks, logs, and required inspections as needed
Assess work requests and assign resources accordingly
Develop/review work scopes prior to implementation
Ensure tasks are completed timely and meet client expectations
Monitor work order completion and backlog
Close work request records in the CMMS system
Coordinate with area planners for execution timing

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills, preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
Strong management and organizational skills.
Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
Client relations and customer service oriented.
Team leadership abilities, staffing, recruiting, development, and relations.
Planning, organization, and system knowledge.
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
